At the HYF, we believe in the power of yoga to support healing, reduce symptoms, managing illness, and maintain health.
Healing Yoga Foundation offers developmental and therapeutic Yoga programs that address the needs of the whole person according to the individual's capability and interest and that specifically seek to empower each client in their own healing and wellness processes.

Yoga programs may include (depending on the client) any one or more of the following:
- Reduce symptoms
- Manage illness
- Promote healing
- Support lifestyle changes
- Manage chronic disease
- Scoliosis and sciatica
- Chronic back and neck pain
- Chronic headaches/migraines
- More serious illnesses (Cancer, Diabetes,etc)
- Gentle movement

- Meditative practices
- Guided self inquiry
First Session (apx. 90 minutes): You will have an appointment with one of HYF's senior therapists to assess your needs and provide an initial yoga therapy program.
Second Session (apx. 30 minutes):
The therapist designs and monitors a course to address the student's needs, abilities, situation and therapeutic and/or wellness goals.
This follow up consultation occurs within 10 days of the first session. Therapist and student review program and make any needed adjustments.
HYF encourages students to have 4 to 6 appointments in order to review progress and refine and modify practices, as required. These sessions can be 45 to 90 minutes. The follow up sessions should occur at regular intervals as determined by teacher and student.

Rate:$90 an hour (pro rated)
As a non-profit organization, Healing Yoga Foundation's purpose is to make the healing benefits of yoga accessible to any and all who wish to experience them, regardless of health, age, background, ability or financial means. Therefore HYF offers need-based financial assistance for people who have limited incomes. Please contact us to receive the financial aid application.
: We have a 24-hour cancellation policy for all individual therapy sessions. Patients are billed 100% of the appointment fee if a cancellation is received less than 24 hours before a scheduled appointment.
In preparation for your appointment, please wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing. We will provide any props you might need.

Private sessions are held at our San Francisco studio in the Inner Richmond, unless arrangements are made for a home visit. There is an additional charge for home visits depending on travel time and location.

Special interest and small group classes
Healing Yoga Foundation offers classes, continuing education opportunities, and general support for Yoga teachers and others seeking in-depth study of the principles of Yoga, in addition to and in conjunction with our National Teacher Training Programs. These classes include:
Individual and small group classes on the principles, practices and philosophies of Yoga, such as The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, The Bhagavad Gita, Vedic chanting, Pranayama, Meditation, etc.
Community lectures, events and special workshops and intensives.
Sponsorship of specialized workshops and events bringing renowned teachers from India and around the world to the U.S.
Each class we offer for healing and wellness, whether personalized, individual instruction or small group classes with a specialized focus, is designed to meet the needs, capabilities, life circumstances and goals of each student for the purpose of, but not limited to:
Reducing pain and discomfort, overcoming physical or emotional trauma, and recovering from illness, injury, addiction, or other health concerns
Maintaining current health/well-being, preventing illness or injury, and increasing flexibility and strength including preparing for, or complementing an existing health maintenance or fitness program
Reducing stress, overcoming depression, anxiety, and psychological trauma, and helping to manage and deal with life-threatening illness
Personal and/or spiritual growth. In the case of spiritual growth, we feel it is important to note that the course followed would be initiated by the client's own interest and complimentary to the client's personal religious practices, beliefs, and preferences, with respect for the same or lack thereof.
Group classes are designed to address a specific topic or need, and teachers provide individual attention and care for each student.
We offer small group classes to health-affected and underserved populations, both independently and in collaboration with the medical and health care community.
